    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=6" rel="nofollow">alabamatoy</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Blue Plastic Barrels<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 May 2012 at 9:51pm<br /><br />The Buffalo Rock place on Old Mad Pike used to sell them; that's where I got mine.&nbsp; <br><br>If you were going to use them for potable water, you had to wash them real good with bleach water because they were used to ship soft drink syrup.&nbsp; All mine stank of Dr Pepper.&nbsp; I mean overpowering stench of Dr Pepper.&nbsp; A few rinses with a few gallons of bleach water, accomplished by putting the couple gallons in the barrel and capping it, then driving around with the barrel in the back of the pickup where it could roll around good, and the smell was gone.&nbsp; These barrels, the 15gal version, are what I store emergency water in.<br><br>A 55gal drum of water weighs almost 500 lbs.<br><br>Im assuming you want them to store water, if not, ignore all this rambling....<br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=128" rel="nofollow">cj8lvr</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> &quot;the Fifty&quot;<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 May 2012 at 4:14pm<br /><br />There is a tremendous press in an aircraft refurbishing shop down in Birmingham that looks like it came off of a WWII battleship.&nbsp; It is from that era I'm pretty sure.&nbsp; The company today is called Pemco.&nbsp; They refurbish aircraft for the military.&nbsp; The big building they have (shows up real nice on a 7.5 min USGS topo quad) has 7-10 bays that can each hold 2 or 3 C-130's.&nbsp; It's a massive building.&nbsp; Their press is in that building.&nbsp; I remember seeing the pressure rating as being rather high (obviously not as high as "The Fifty") but&nbsp;nonetheless impressive piece of old iron.&nbsp; I'll have to ask my Dad what it's rated.<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>This is a neat story.&nbsp; Thanks, Doc.</DIV>]]>
